CVP and Sony left a couple of cameras and lenses that you can try out. This is always good as it is often hard to get enough time on new equipment. In this case there was an FS5 with the new firmware and an FS7 Mk2 complete with a pricey Canon Lens. At CVP you also have a beautiful model:

HDR is short for High Dynamic Range, a way of getting 10 bit (and up) video on to consumer tv sets. Previously I had seen some demos of the new Sky Atlantic show: Riviera in HDR and the pictures are fabulous so my expectations were “Sky” high. However there is a lot of infrastructure change is needed to support the competing formats. The Dolby Vision sets require a chip to handle the patented algorithms. HLG, for Hybrid Log Gamma, follows a more traditional broadcast approach of building for a new format over older infrastructure. The HLG Gamma curve begins with the Rec.709 from HD and then builds upon it to extend the range. A conventional HD set could still show a good picture with HLG but a suitably equipped set will notice the new format and show it in its full glory.
