Green Screen Studio

The plan called for filming some sequences Rec.709. without engaging some of the Sony Hypergammas available on the camera (Sony FS7 today). We recorded 2 audio channels but left the two in camera channels to record whatever they pick up. These can come in handy sometimes.

The idea was to record Terry giving some of his usual talks, normally he manages this without any trouble but we know that as soon as the pressure of a camera is upon you nerves can set in. I had a plan to record some shots with an interviewer so we proceeded to try this. Much to my surprise the setup of being interviewed cured all his nerves! He is used to having an audience ask him questions ! I have learned that it is always imported to have your talent at ease and it is not always obvious how that should be done. Obviously this does not apply to professional speakers.

Putting your subject at ease is not only important in the studio, when reviewing footage you may find that they do not like it.

My interviewing session worked very well from the perspective of putting the subject at ease. However Terry had quite strong glasses and naturally they refract the green screen. Paul, the guy that runs the studio, pointed out that this could be problematic – and he was right!
