The Post Office Horizon IT Statutory Inquiry is now well under way. It was split into six phases and we are now about to enter the combined fifth and sixth phases. I expected the Phase 4 hearings to be the most important, it was very good but the points I was most interested in were not really dealt with to my satisfaction. That may be no bad thing, it simply shows that the my interests do not align with those of the Inquiry. I am mainly concerned with how the miscarriage of justice developed from the inside out. Most other treatments focus on how it started from the perspective of the sub postmasters, indeed the Phase 1 of the Inquiry was dedicated to evidence from some of those affected.
My perspective is based upon a theory of how the crisis started and observations as to how it expanded to become what some have called the biggest miscarriage of justice in British history. From the outside perspective there is no better source than journalist than Nick Wallis. He maintains a blog, has published a book and iso tour with a stage show that explains how the crisis started. Highly recommended.
